Ceramic / Porcelain
Ceramic / porcelain slabs (also known as sintered compact surfaces or ultra compact) are made of high-density, low-porosity ceramic. Porcelain is a new material to be used as surfacing – the process combines raw materials that are found in glass, ceramic and quartz together to form a new material in both slab form and tiles. The resulting ultra-compact surface is virtually indestructible – plus, there are no harmful chemicals or resins used in the manufacturing process.
The slabs have a design printed on them before being kiln baked. This technology achieves the photographic reality of any product desired. The most popular patterns are the exotic and high-end marbles and granites which produce an expensive look for an affordable price and with optimum durability.
The brands of Ceramic / Porcelain include Dekton, Neolith, Ascale, Florim and Laminam.

Dekton employs exclusive Sinterized Particle Technology, a high tech process which represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures and pressure over thousands of years.
Sinterized particle technology synthesizes truly innovative procedures from the most advanced technology industries. This evolution represents a technological and industrial leap capable of generating a new process, a revolutionary material and a leading product. Electronic microscopy allows us to fully appreciate the material’s zero porosity, a consequence of the sinterization and ultra-compaction process exclusive to Dekton.
This zero porosity and lack of the micro-defects that cause tension or weak spots mark the difference as far as Dekton is concerned.
TAU Cerámica brings you the height of excellence with ASCALE – a new, versatile, large, light porcelain sheet. ASCALE’s range of sizes – up to 320x160cm in size, and two thicknesses: 12mm and 6mm can be used to cover any vertical or horizontal wall.
ASCALE allows unique, elegant and versatile spaces to be created, coupled with the unbeatable technical features offered by TAU Cerámica.
New Architectural Surface – Laminex New Zealand introduces Laminam, a new concept in decorative surfaces with universal potential for the construction industry. Laminam is the worlds first full body porcelain ceramic tile in a large 3000mm x 1000mm format, with a thickness of just 3.5mm. This makes it possible to use large ceramic surfaces in previously unthinkable applications. Laminam is a revolutionary new way to skin architectural surfaces.
Chemical Resistance – Laminam resists organic and inorganic solvents, disinfectants and detergents. It can be easily cleaned without affecting its surface characteristics.
Neolith, is a revolutionary new product category pioneered in the last decade to effectively respond to the most demanding architectural and interior design needs. Designed and produced in Spain, Neolith is a 100% NATURAL PRODUCT that is ideal for a variety of exterior and interior applications.
Neolith is the outcome of a selection of the best raw materials and a revolutionary highly technological production process known as sinterization which produces a compact surface of large formats and minimum thicknesses.

“My bench top was marking with simple use – tea and cold food plates with resulting marks not coming off with warm soapy water. Initial mix up on visit time but Michelle did visit once rearranged. She provided cleaning product, showed me how to apply it and left me with some for future use. Very customer friendly thanks.”

“Had a great experience with Wellington Granite when we renovated our kitchen. They supplied and installed a beautiful black forest marble benchtop with a waterfall edge after a recommendation from Phil at Supremo Kitchens. It was a fantastic feature of our kitchen and I am sure helped sell our home at a premium. The process for selecting the top was easy and the team helped us through the colour choices taking into consideration our kitchen design and lighting. They kept us informed as to when the bench would be installed, and worked in with our kitchen designer and contractors to make sure the process was flawless. Eugene even gave us a bottle of special marble surface cleaner to make sure the top stayed in the best condition. I would highly recommend Wellington Granite, it was a great experience and we will certainly use them again when we replace the kitchen in our new home.”

“Dealing with Wellington Granite was a real pleasure. Eugene and staff are extremly knowlegeable about the products they sell. We visited the showroom and spent some time, never feeling rushed. Kudos to Matt and his co-worker who come to install our benchtop. They were very professional and hard working. They had already put in a full day but were still full of energy and did not stop till the job was complete. They even went the extra mile to ensure they left the area clean and tidy. Cannot praise Eugene and his staff more highly. Would definately recomend Wellington Granite.”

“A big thanks to Nat and Eugene at Wellington Granite for our beautiful benchtop. They could not have been more helpful and the quality of the finish is superb. Choosing the perfect stone is not easy as the investment can be big and the decision quite permanent so the advice we received on the way was so important. Nat and Eugene made this decision less stressful and our outcome is a perfectly finished kitchen that we just love. We would recommend them to everyone.”
