Ceramic / Porcelain

Ceramic / porcelain slabs (also known as sintered compact surfaces or ultra compact) are made of high-density, low-porosity ceramic. Porcelain is a new material to be used as surfacing – the process combines raw materials that are found in glass, ceramic and quartz together to form a new material in both slab form and tiles. The resulting ultra-compact surface is virtually indestructible – plus, there are no harmful chemicals or resins used in the manufacturing process.

The slabs have a design printed on them before being kiln baked. This technology achieves the photographic reality of any product desired. The most popular patterns are the exotic and high-end marbles and granites which produce an expensive look for an affordable price and with optimum durability.

The brands of Ceramic / Porcelain include DektonNeolithAscale, Florim and Laminam.

Dekton

Dekton employs exclusive Sinterized Particle Technology, a high tech process which represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures and pressure over thousands of years.

Sinterized particle technology synthesizes truly innovative procedures from the most advanced technology industries. This evolution represents a technological and industrial leap capable of generating a new process, a revolutionary material and a leading product. Electronic microscopy allows us to fully appreciate the material’s zero porosity, a consequence of the sinterization and ultra-compaction process exclusive to Dekton.

This zero porosity and lack of the micro-defects that cause tension or weak spots mark the difference as far as Dekton is concerned.

“Had a great experience with Wellington Granite when we renovated our kitchen. They supplied and installed a beautiful black forest marble benchtop with a waterfall edge after a recommendation from Phil at Supremo Kitchens. It was a fantastic feature of our kitchen and I am sure helped sell our home at a premium. The process for selecting the top was easy and the team helped us through the colour choices taking into consideration our kitchen design and lighting. They kept us informed as to when the bench would be installed, and worked in with our kitchen designer and contractors to make sure the process was flawless. Eugene even gave us a bottle of special marble surface cleaner to make sure the top stayed in the best condition. I would highly recommend Wellington Granite, it was a great experience and we will certainly use them again when we replace the kitchen in our new home.”

“Dealing with Wellington Granite was a real pleasure. Eugene and staff are extremly knowlegeable about the products they sell. We visited the showroom and spent some time, never feeling rushed. Kudos to Matt and his co-worker who come to install our benchtop. They were very professional and hard working. They had already put in a full day but were still full of energy and did not stop till the job was complete. They even went the extra mile to ensure they left the area clean and tidy. Cannot praise Eugene and his staff more highly. Would definately recomend Wellington Granite.”

“A big thanks to Nat and Eugene at Wellington Granite for our beautiful benchtop. They could not have been more helpful and the quality of the finish is superb. Choosing the perfect stone is not easy as the investment can be big and the decision quite permanent so the advice we received on the way was so important. Nat and Eugene made this decision less stressful and our outcome is a perfectly finished kitchen that we just love. We would recommend them to everyone.”
